Taking a Look at Sarah Wilhem's Web Page

I had the pleasure of reviewing and commenting on the web page of Ms. Sarah Wilhem, who is a fellow EDM 310 class member (but she takes her class at 2pm). I really enjoyed her web page that is dedicated to her picks of the "Most Endangered Animals." The pictures of the specified animals were very realistic; however,I would like to suggest for a brief summary on why they are labeled as an endangered species to be added. I commend Sarah for sharing this information with us and I am sure it will make all of us more cognitive of all the animals who are on the verge of becoming extinct. A Web Page Review on Nikita Anderson

I had the pleasure of reviewing and commenting on Ms. Nakita Anderson's web page. I must say first of all, Nikita is very photogentic and her pictures are very pretty. I loved her web page except for the contrast of the bright background and the color of the font on a few of the web pages (it made it hard to read the text). Outside of a few grammatical corrections and the need of making some of your pictures smaller, I say well done Ms. Nikita. If you would like to see Nikita's Web page, just click here!

What's Going on with Seymour Papert!

Who is Seymour Papert?-you may ask? Well, Mr. Papert is a very intelligent man. His career began with his decision to pursue mathematical research at Cambridge University from 1954-58. Following his working with Jean Piaget, Papert decided to consider to use mathematics in the service of understanding how children learned and think. He developed the theory of "Constructionism" which states that children learn best when they are in the active role of designer and constructor.

He is considered the world's foremost expert on how technology can provide a new way of learning. He currently acts as a faculty member for the Epistemology & Learning Group at MIT, where he is also the founder of the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory. In addition, Papert sits on the advisory board for MaMaMedia, Inc. and LEGO Mindstorms. He also lives in Maine where he founded "The Learning Barn" and where he is acknowledged as a distinguished professor by the University of Maine. From a literary stand point, Papert's book, "The Connected Family: Bridging the Digital Generation Gap (1996)" is designed for parents (and teachers) and children who are interested in the changes in learning that are brought about by the explosion of having a computer in the home.
